Current position: Intermediate Apprentice in Carpentry with Cornwall Community Action Network, a social enterprise company that helps young people get started in work, build their skills, and move on to further employment.

Types of Employment/Apprenticeship I'm looking for, and what I hope to get from it:

I am very keen to be able to continue my Carpentry Apprenticeship. I enjoy working in the Construction Industry but I am really focused on Carpentry.

What I can offer an employer:

I have been able to demonstrate very good timekeeping and attendance and feel that this shows my commitment to my Apprenticeship. I am a hard worker, always preferring to be doing something than not. I have good hand skills and am confident with a variety of hand tools. I am ahead of schedule and my theory and I have passed my CSCS Card test.

Skills and abilities (what I've learnt, what I can do):

I have fitted skirting and architrave. I have built studwork, joists, plasterboard ceilings, hung doors (internal), fitted mortice locks. I have been involved in a project at the Camborne Deaf Centre and worked with a variety of other trades. I have worked on other local projects including fixing a conservatory roof.

General Employment Skills (attitude, commitment, personal qualities, timekeeping, reliability etc.):

As above. I am learning to drive and have a car, so I am ready to go as soon as I have passed.

Work Experience (any work done, employment, projects/training, voluntary work, where):

I have worked as a general labourer with Mark Fenton during the summer holidays and can mix cement etc.

Qualifications, Units & Certificates achieved:

I have GCSEs in English, Maths, Science, RE, Design Technology and my CSCS test certificate.

I have completed seven units of my diploma:  Know how to carry out safe working practices in construction; Carry out safe working practices in construction; Knowledge of information, quantities and communicating with others; Information, quantities and communicating with others; Knowledge of
building methods and construction technology; Building methods and construction technology; Know how to carry out first fixing operations.

I have completed three units of my NVQ: Conforming to Efficient Working Practices in the Workplace; Conforming to General Safety in the Workplace; Moving and Handling Resources in the Workplace.
