DMT staff and learners support Breast Cancer Campaign's Wear It Pink Day

Kim and Benita in our Customer Services department have taken the lead in promoting the Wear It Pink campaign at DMT and all staff, trainees and visitors are invited to join in by wearing something pink, eating cakes, playing games or just making a donation!
Wear it Pink day is Breast Cancer Campaign's biggest fundraising event, designed to raise awareness and help people save lives by making a donation to support essential research. In 2010, hundreds of thousands wore pink, raising over £2 million.
The money raised by the Wear It Pink campaign will help fund projects like Dr Janine Erler's exciting research. She found that preventing a molecule called LOXL-2 from working can stop breast cancer cells spreading to other parts of the body. This discovery could ultimately lead to new treatments and improve the chances of survival for thousands more people.
So if you'd like to donate, go to www.wearitpink.co.uk and click on the Donate Now button, or drop into our Cardrew Centre and ask for Kim or Benita in Customer Services - and you can find out about Apprenticeships or other training options at the same time!
