This week DMT trainees Dion, Jack and Liam were the first to benefit from a new partnership between DMT Business Services and BAM Construction, designed to broaden their experience of the construction industry and open up new work and Apprenticeship opportunities.

BAM Construction will be offering DMT's Apprenticeship trainees work experience opportunities on major construction sites and with various subcontractors at different stages in the project build.

CCAN Apprentices Dion and Liam and Access to Apprenticeship trainee Jack visited BAM Construction at their project site on Tuesday, and were given interviews and and an introduction to the company and their projects.  They were also taken through project plans and some of the issues encountered when undertaking projects, and given an insight into the environmental considerations, which are given a high priority by BAM.

DMT and BAM are now working together to develop a long term working relationship that will provide exciting new opportunities for young people to build their skills and get started on a career in construction through Apprenticeships and Access to Apprenticeship programmes.

BAM Construction UK Ltd ( www.bam.co.uk ) is a leading construction business, which delivers projects in a wide range of sectors.  Current projects include construction of the £13m Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre on the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust site in Truro for Cornwall Council.
