New Deal for Young People

DMT provides a wide range of training and work experience for young people who are eligible for New Deal for Young People, including the Environmental Task Force option.

New Deal for Young People is for people aged between 18 and 24, who have had a continuous claim to Jobseekers’ Allowance for six months or more.  In some cases people may be eligible to join the programme earlier if both they and their appointed New Deal Personal Adviser decide that this is the best course of action for them.

It is designed to help 18-24 year olds, who are long-term unemployed, to improve their chances of finding and keeping a job.

Whilst on the programme, you get continued help and support from a New Deal Personal Adviser whose main aim is to help you find and keep a job, or become self-employed.  They will help you identify your needs and any barriers to work you are facing, and will arrange appropriate New Deal training, work experience or additional support to meet your needs.  New Deal for Young People gives you a chance to look at your present situation, build on any skills or experience you already have and develop new ones to improve your chances of finding work.
